How many times have you said or been told "It was God's plan..."??? Probably too many to count on your toes and fingers, right? I stopped in Edmond, Ok on my way to Stillwater Sunday for a much needed ice cream date with Kim. Kim has been a steadfast friend through college. We have a lot in common but our differences balance each other out well. We are both extremely anal, tend to get on edge, and definitely have the same "pet peeves!" Anyways, we were talkin about life and her wedding plans but then the topic of "God's plan" came up.
If you rewind a year and a half I was laying in bed with sweet Kim [literally laying in bed] while wiping her tears because of a devastating break up. I would cry just because of the heartache I knew she was going through. As her friend, I wanted to say anything and everything to make it better, yet nothing would. However, God knew exactly what He was doing. Little did we know, looking back on that day she [and me either] thought she would be planning a September wedding, with someone completely different. The irony of her and Jed's love story is funny, yet such a God thing. If you look at your life - you absolutely can not predict what will happen; however, after the fact, you look back and your think "that was so right in front of my face..." The intertwining of life's events, encounters, etc... is so fascinating. However, for whatever reason, we can't see the big picture at the time, yet God has a huge picture waiting for us. And it is far better than any picture we could paint ourselves. I constantly have to remind myself that I am a horrible artist and the Lord is truly the only person who can paint a picture for my life.
I praise God for great friends & the small moments where a big reminder is given.

such a good post and SO completely true :) I needed to read this !
Sometimes it's so hard for us to see God's plan ... but to know He has us in the palm of His hands is enough!
Definitely true! We have to leave our plans up to him!
