Well, Caleb popped the question and before he could even ask I said, "YES!"
Here is the full story for those who don't know~
Last weekend (Easter weekend) I went home to Texas! That Friday night he told me he was working late so instead of going to his house like I normally do I went home and had a cook-out with my family. We had a great evening of food and company. I didn't expect anything at all. My mom was so collected and never once slipped up. She didn't even tell me to SHOWER, which I really wish she would of! HA! Caleb told me to come over at about 8:45 so when 8:20 rolls around I give him a call to see if he is home and showered. He said he needed to shower but to go ahead and come over. I get in my car and about five minutes later he calls. He says he is helping his dad move some boxes down at camp (his parent's camp) and he wanted me to see the new furniture at the brand new retreat center! I gladly drive down to camp (we go down there all the time) and didn't expect one thing.
I drive up to camp and this is on the door. My heart jumps out of my chest. At this point, I knew something was up! I open the door and the song "Have a Little Faith in Me" was playing. I followed the rose petals out the back door. I was walking so slow because I was in such shock!
I follow the rose petals outside and see this.... (this picture was taken pre proposal so roses aren't spread out and you can't see the lights) Caleb is standing at the bottom by the fire pit waiting for me. I go down the stairs and he grabs my hands. He begins by saying, "Claire, our relationship started 5 1/2 years ago when we were so young and immature. I know we still have a lot of growing to do but I don't want to do it one more day without you!" He told me all the things he loved about me and why he wants me to be his wife. He then prayed for our marriage as a couple. He got down on one knee and before he could even ask I begin to say, "YES, YES, YES!!!" He asked me to be his wife and put the most beautiful promise on my finger! I was so happy! We go back up the stairs and dance to the new song "Honeybee!" I then just want to start talking about everything!!! I then look over to see this...
This table was set up with pictures from day one! The very first picture we ever took was framed in the red frame! His mom and sister bought me Bride magazines and a new bag to carry all my wedding stuff in! I was in awe! After about ten minutes our families all came down to celebrate! My mom brought this beautiful cake!
I loved it!!
Our first picture as an engaged couple!!! We are finally getting married!
One big happy family!!!
The next day....
The big day is June 9th, 2012~
